Thanks for stopping by

Do I even need to say it? We have all missed traveling! It has been way too long since I packed a suitcase to travel somewhere. After some careful planning and checking off a list of precautions, I felt it was only right to make our first trip back to the city I called home before moving to Birmingham, the Holy City.

With Covid traipsing from state to state shutting everything down, Grant and I missed a birthday and several anniversaries. So, we found it fitting to go big and celebrate them all while in the city of food and wine. What better place, right?

If its not clear, I live for good accommodations! In Charleston there is no better place to stay than in the heart of city. Now, we couldn’t have gotten a better location than the new Guest House Charleston in downtown. Guest House Charleston is a compound of luxury accommodations across the peninsula – perfect for our small group, but able to accommodate large groups across several homes.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by a beautiful bottle of Rose and note welcoming us to the stunning 3 story property. Our home for the week boasted three bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room with expansive views of downtown life, and an eat-in, chef’s kitchen that will make any insta cook swoon. I think this navy kitchen is a NECESSITY in my next home. I would definitely cook more if I had a kitchen like this one!

This was a HUGE weekend for celebrations. On top of all our missed events, we were also in town to celebrate my great friend and old roommate’s birthday, plus, we were showing our close Birmingham friends around Charleston on their first visit! There were so many moving parts, but I carefully planned and balanced it all – having a good home base for the week helped keep it all together.

Let’s take a tour! Our room was large, airy, and filled with everything a short term and long term rental guest may need. The room boasted built-in closets, a large TV, full length mirror, lots of natural light, and VIEWS for days.

And let me tell y’all about this bathroom! It was so spacious. The double vanity was a wonderful surprise. All the counter space helped since I travel with someone who needs an additional bag for all their “getting ready” supplies haha. I honestly will keep this bathroom as inspo for the future. I love the black and gold touches with the different textures. The shower was also EVERYTHING. Again, very spacious and I loved the rain feature. We always add eucalyptus to give a bathroom even more of a spa like feeling.

Lets head upstairs where two more rooms hosted the birthday girl and our first time Charleston visitors! These rooms were also both very spacious with their own bathrooms, tv, closets, and views! We obviously decorated the birthday girls room with balloons, champs, and a gorgeous bouquet. Can we talk about that floating mirror in the bathroom?!

The room across the hall was saved for our first time visitors. This room had tall ceilings and the beams were fantastic – fun fact, they’re original to the home! I love that the owners kept this as a part of the room. This room has an additional trundle bed for families traveling with kids or extra sleeping room for those large friend groups.

This Guest House Charleston house had absolutely EVERYTHING we needed! The team and ownership went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and felt completely at home. They definitely showed that good southern hospitality! We can not thank them enough for providing us with top of the line accommodations and outstanding service. Thank you for making our first trip back to CHS unforgettable.

Make sure to check out the party we threw outside at Guesthouse Charleston here and the picnic we had at one of the other properties here. Are you traveling with a large group and in love with this home? Lucky for you there are additional apartments attached to this one to host your large group – check the entire floor plan here.

Ready for your next vacation or staycation? Check out all the properties across downtown charleston here. Are you ready to book this home? You can do it here.
